Naturopathic Nutritional Therapy – Important Information
What is Nutritional Therapy?
Nutritional Therapy is the evidence-based application of nutrition science to support health, optimise wellbeing, and help the body return to balance. Practitioners use a range of assessments to identify potential nutritional imbalances that may contribute to symptoms or underlying health concerns. This holistic, personalised approach recognises each person as unique — meaning your plan is tailored specifically to you, rather than a one-size-fits-all programme.
Nutritional Therapy is recognised as a complementary therapy and can support individuals with chronic health concerns as well as those wishing to improve overall wellbeing. Nutritional therapy does not replace medical advice, and practitioners will always refer clients with ‘red flag’ symptoms to their GP or appropriate medical professional.
Your practitioner may also communicate with your wider healthcare team (with your consent) to ensure safe and coordinated care.
Client Information & Practitioner Responsibilities
The Nutritional Therapist (NT) requests that the Client notes the following:
The degree of benefit from Nutritional Therapy varies from person to person.
Nutritional and lifestyle recommendations are personalised based on symptoms, goals, medical history, and assessment findings.
Nutritional Therapists are not permitted to diagnose or treat medical conditions.
Nutritional advice should not be considered a substitute for medical care.
Supplements and functional testing may be recommended; the practitioner may receive a commission on these products or services.
Professional standards are governed by the CNHC Code of Conduct.
Your practitioner will make it clear if advice falls outside the scope of Nutritional Therapy.
